Question
I am developing a serum formulation for whitening and skin health. Could you please review the mixing method and ingredient percentages?
My current formulation includes:
- French Pine Bark Extract 25 (Liquid) at 20%
- Perfect-C
- Soy Extract at 10%
What are your suggestions for optimizing this formula?
Answer
Based on the feedback provided, your mixing method is correct. However, there are some suggestions regarding the ingredient percentages:
- Reduce French Pine Bark Extract 25 (Liquid) from 20% to around 3-5%. At 20%, the color is very intense and may darken the skin significantly.
- Consider adding Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) at 5% to help strengthen the skin and enhance the whitening effect of Perfect-C.
- You can reduce Soy Extract from 10% to 5% to make room for the Vitamin B3. This combination provides more comprehensive benefits as these ingredients work through different mechanisms.
