Question

Based on using Pro Polymer™ (Gel Maker) in a serum formulation, I have two questions regarding air bubbles:

1. Is there a faster way to remove air bubbles?
2. If we warm the serum to no more than 40°C, will it help remove air bubbles?

Answer

Hello,

Regarding your questions about air bubbles when using Pro Polymer™ (Gel Maker):

  1. Is there a faster way to remove air bubbles?
  2. If we warm the serum to no more than 40°C, will it help remove air bubbles?

Yes, warming the mixture to a gentle temperature (such as not exceeding 40°C) can indeed help speed up the process of air bubbles disappearing.

Furthermore, the staff also pointed out that:

  • Certain ingredients, like oils or silicones, can help prevent significant bubble formation if present in the formula.
  • The type of mixing head and the mixing method are significant factors. Avoid mixers that tend to incorporate air into the mixture (e.g., bakery mixers, egg beaters).

Thank you.
