Alcohol-Free Acne & Brightening Toner (100g)

This formulation uses key ingredients known for their benefits in addressing acne, brightening the complexion, and providing hydration, while being alcohol-free.

Ingredients:

• Purified Water: 28.5 g
• Witch Hazel (Distillate - Alcohol Free, Paraben Free): 60 g - Acts as an astringent to help tighten pores without drying.
• Rose (Rosa Damascena) Extract Mon rose extract: 3 g - Provides a natural rose scent and aligns with your preference.
• Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide): 5 g - Helps reduce acne, redness, dark spots, and strengthens the skin barrier.
• ActiveRelease™ Salicylic Acid (Powder, Water-Soluble): 2.5 g - A water-soluble form of BHA that helps exfoliate skin cells and clear clogged pores, released gradually to be gentler.
• Glycerin (USP/Food Grade): 5 g - A humectant to draw moisture into the skin.
• Mild Preserved™ COS (pH 2-8, Broad Spectrum, No-Odor): 1 g - A broad-spectrum preservative to keep your toner safe from microbial growth.

• Malic Acid (DL-Malic Acid): As needed (approx. 0.1-0.5 g) - To adjust the pH of the toner to be suitable for the skin and the active ingredients.

• Note: Percentages are by weight (g) for a total of 100g.*

Instructions:

Making this toner is a simple process and does not require heating.

1. Weigh all your ingredients accurately using a digital scale.
2. In a clean beaker or container, combine the Purified Water and Witch Hazel.
3. Add the Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide) and ActiveRelease™ Salicylic Acid to the water/witch hazel mixture. Stir gently but thoroughly until both powders are completely dissolved.
4. Add the Glycerin and Rose (Rosa Damascena) Extract to the mixture. Stir again until everything is well combined.
5. Measure the pH of your toner using a pH meter or pH strips. The ideal pH range for this toner, considering the active ingredients, is between 4.5 and 5.5.
6. If the pH is higher than 5.5, add Malic Acid in very small amounts (e.g., a drop or two of a pre-dissolved solution, or tiny pinches of the powder if using powder directly, ensuring it dissolves completely before re-measuring). Stir well and re-measure the pH after each addition until it falls within the target range of 4.5-5.5.
7. Once the pH is adjusted, add the Mild Preserved™ COS preservative. Stir well to ensure it is evenly distributed throughout the toner.
8. Pour the finished toner into a clean, sterilized bottle.

Your alcohol-free acne and brightening toner is now ready to use! Store it in a cool, dark place.
