Body Lotion Texture Issue and Ingredient Inquiries

I am trying to make a Body Lotion with a peeling effect. I bought a general store-bought lotion base and added LHA (Capryloyl Salicylic Acid) to it. The texture became very watery.

Could you suggest any thickener ingredients, such as Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer) or Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, or other substances to help thicken the texture?

Additional Questions

  1. Is the ingredient Adenosine no longer available for sale?
  2. Could you please consider stocking Retinol and Rumex Extract?

Answer

Subject: Re: Adding LHA made the cream texture watery

Regarding your issue with the body lotion becoming watery after adding LHA, this can happen when adding certain active ingredients to a finished base.

To thicken the texture, the staff recommends considering the following thickeners:

  • Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer)
  • Hydroxyethyl Cellulose

Regarding your additional questions:

  1. Adenosine is currently out of stock, and there is no set date for new imports. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  2. Regarding your request to stock Retinol and Rumex Extract:
    • Retinol is in the same group as Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), which we do stock. However, Retinol itself is not permitted for use in cosmetics by the FDA in Thailand and is restricted to medical use under the supervision of a doctor.
    • Rumex Extract was not addressed in the staff response.

Thank you.
