Body Mask Formulation for Brighter Skin

A heavy body mask can be formulated to help brighten the skin. This can be achieved by combining exfoliating agents like AHA with other skin-lightening ingredients in a cream base suitable for masking, as advised by the staff. It is crucial to control the pH of the formulation within the appropriate range.

Ingredients (Approximate)

Part 1 (Water Phase)

• Water: To 100%
• Lactic Acid 90% Deodorized: 10% (Adjust final pH to 3.5-4.0)
• Hexylresorcinol AF: 2%
• Disodium EDTA: 0.2%
• Phenoxyethanol SA: 1%

Part 2 (Oil Phase)

• LipidSoft Lite: 10%
• Butter Cream Maker: 5%
• Cetyl Alcohol: 6%

Mixing Procedure

1. Prepare Part 1 by combining Water, Lactic Acid 90% Deodorized, Hexylresorcinol AF, Disodium EDTA, and Phenoxyethanol SA. Stir until all ingredients are dissolved.
2. Prepare Part 2 by combining LipidSoft Lite, Butter Cream Maker, and Cetyl Alcohol. Heat to approximately 80°C until all ingredients are fully melted and combined.
3. Slowly pour Part 1 into Part 2 in small increments while blending or stirring vigorously.
4. Continue blending or stirring as the cream cools down to room temperature. The cream will thicken gradually and fully set within about 12 hours.
5. Measure the pH of the formulation. If it is below 3.5, carefully adjust it upwards using an alkali such as Triethanolamine or Sodium Hydroxide solution until the pH is in the range of 3.5-4.0.

How to Use

Apply the mask generously to the body skin. Leave on for approximately 15-20 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with clean water.

Precautions

• pH adjustment is very important for the efficacy and safety of the formula. Use an accurate pH meter.
• Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin before applying the mask to the entire body.
