Calculating Ingredient Percentage in Formulation

To calculate the percentage of an ingredient in a formulation, you typically use the following formula:

(Weight of Ingredient / Total Weight of Formulation) * 100%

For example, if you have a 100-gram batch and you add 5 grams of a specific ingredient, the percentage of that ingredient is (5g / 100g) * 100% = 5%.

If your total batch size is different, say 250 grams, and you want 5% of an ingredient, you would calculate the required weight as:

5% of 250g = (5 / 100) * 250g = 12.5 grams.

Always ensure the sum of all ingredient percentages equals 100%.
