Cannot Create Peeling Effect in Cleansing Formula
Question
I have a formula containing cleansing agents and want to achieve a 'peeling effect' (fake keratin). I also have questions regarding:
- Using the formula as a mask and adding skin-nourishing extracts (e.g., B3, NAG, Willow Bark, Rhamnose, Nano Silver Pure). If possible, when should they be added?
- How to control the speed of bubble formation using
Bubble Max. - How to add fragrance, especially at concentrations above 1%, using
Sulfate Free Shampoo Base,Flora Foam, orFlora Solve Clear.
Specifically, is it possible to create a peeling effect in this type of formula, as I understand ingredients like Carbomer are used for this but may be incompatible with cleansing agents?
Answer
Based on the previous conversation and the staff's advice:
Regarding using the same formula as a mask and adding extracts:
The staff previously advised that most skin-nourishing extracts require time to absorb into the skin to provide significant benefits. While leaving the product on for 15-20 minutes as a mask provides more contact time than a quick wash, the benefit of adding extracts may still be limited compared to using them in leave-on products.
If you still wish to add water-soluble extracts (like B3, NAG, Willow Bark, Rhamnose, Nano Silver Pure, if they are water-soluble), you can add them during the cool-down phase (below 40°C) along with Bubble Max and the preservative (Phenoxyethanol SA). Please ensure the extracts are compatible with the formula's pH and other ingredients.
Regarding creating a peeling effect (fake keratin):
As the staff previously explained, it is not possible to achieve a fake keratin peeling effect in this formula. This is because the gelling agents typically used for this effect (like Carbomer) are incompatible with the surfactants (cleansing agents) present in the formula, and the surfactants themselves would prevent the peeling action.
Regarding controlling bubble speed:
As the staff suggested, you can try reducing the amount of Bubble Max to make the bubbling action slower.
Regarding adding fragrance:
As the staff advised, you can add fragrance up to 1% by mixing it directly with the Sulfate Free Shampoo Base. For higher amounts, use a solubilizer like Flora Foam or Flora Solve Clear.
