Clear Lip Balm Formula

Here is a basic formula for a clear lip balm, building upon the suggestion of using Oil Stick™ Hard:

Ingredients:

• Oil Stick™ Hard: 3-4% (Provides hard texture for stick formula)
• Mineral Oil (Heavy): 60-80% (Base oil)
• LipidSoft™ Lube: 5-10% (Emollient for smooth feel)
• Oil Thick™ Transparent or Oil Thick™ Clear S: 1-5% (Optional, for adjusting clarity and gel texture)

Instructions:

1. Combine Oil Stick™ Hard, Mineral Oil, LipidSoft™ Lube, and the chosen Oil Thick™ (if using) in a heat-resistant container.
2. Heat the mixture to 85-95°C while stirring gently until all solid ingredients are completely dissolved and the mixture is clear.
3. Remove from heat and continue stirring slowly until the mixture begins to thicken slightly.
4. Pour the mixture into lip balm tubes or containers.
5. Allow to cool completely at room temperature until solid.

Notes:

• Adjust the percentage of Oil Stick™ Hard and the optional Oil Thick™ to achieve your desired hardness and clarity.
• Ensure all ingredients are fully melted and mixed thoroughly for a clear, uniform product.
• Mineral Oil (Heavy) is a good base due to its stability and emollient properties. Other oils can be used but may affect clarity.
• LipidSoft™ Lube adds a nice slip and non-greasy feel.
• Oil Thick™ Transparent or Oil Thick™ Clear S can help improve clarity and gel structure, especially with certain oils.

This formula provides a starting point. You may need to experiment with the ratios to get the exact texture and clarity you prefer.
