Question
Regarding the Vitamin C E Ferulic Kit:
- Is it possible to add Repair Activator to this kit?
- What effect does adding Repair Activator have on the stability of the Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) in the kit?
- If I want to add moisturizing or anti-wrinkle benefits, or use both Vitamin C and Repair Activator, what are the recommended alternative methods or ingredients?
Answer
Based on the staff's responses:
- L-Ascorbic acid-2-Phosphate: The company does not sell L-Ascorbic acid-2-Phosphate. This form has a neutral pH and good water stability but does not provide whitening effects like L-Ascorbic Acid.
- Best Powdered Vitamin C: There is no single "best" powdered Vitamin C. The most suitable type depends on your specific application and desired properties.
- Vitamin C E Ferulic Kit Experience:
- The stinging/tingling sensation is common initially and should decrease after about 10 days of continuous use as your skin adjusts.
- To add moisturizing or anti-wrinkle benefits to the C E Ferulic formula, it is recommended to use oil-soluble ingredients. Adding water-soluble ingredients like Repair Activator will significantly reduce the stability of the L-Ascorbic Acid in the kit.
- Recommended oil-soluble additives include Bisabolol (e.g., 1% dissolved in 3% Flora Solve) or additional Vitamin E. Please refer to the Flora Solve usage instructions on the website for specific ratios.
- Combining Vitamin C and Repair Activator: Adding Repair Activator to the Vitamin C E Ferulic Kit is strongly discouraged because it will cause the Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) to degrade very quickly, even if used within a few days. If you wish to use both Vitamin C and Repair Activator, the staff recommends using Perfect-C (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate) as it is stable and compatible with a wider range of ingredients.
- Adding Fragrance: Fragrance needs to be dissolved using Flora Solve or Flora Solve Clear before adding to the base. Fragrance concentration should generally not exceed 1% of the formula. Refer to the Flora Solve usage instructions on the website for the correct ratio.
- Stabilized Vit C / Natural C Glycol: This can be applied directly to the skin.
