Compatibility of Activated Resorcinol S with AHA and Comparison of Whitening Ingredient Combinations
Question
I understand that Activated Resorcinol (oil-soluble) is oil-soluble and cannot be used with AHA.
- Can Activated Resorcinol S (water-soluble) be used with AHA?
- Which combination is better: B3 + NAG + Activated Resorcinol or B3 + NAG + MSH White Absorb?
Answer
Based on the staff's reply:
Regarding the use of Activated Resorcinol S (water-soluble) with AHA:
Any type of resorcinol cannot be used in highly acidic conditions, which is characteristic of formulas containing AHA. AHA formulas typically require a pH of 3-3.5 for efficacy, while resorcinol needs a pH above 4.5 for stability. Therefore, resorcinol and AHA cannot be used together in the same formulation.
Regarding the comparison between B3 + NAG + Activated Resorcinol and B3 + NAG + MSH White Absorb:
The staff cannot definitively say which combination is better. The effectiveness depends on the individual user's skin response. Some ingredients may work well for some users but not for others.
