คำถาม
Can I make a gel from Pro Polymer and then mix in Silicone Film (Long-Wear, Hard, Isododecane Base)? Or is this not possible if I don't want to use silicone gel?
คำตอบ
Mixing Pro Polymer Gel with Silicone Film (Isododecane Base)
Based on the properties of the two ingredients:
- Pro Polymer is a gel maker that works by creating a gel texture in water-based formulas. It dissolves in water.
- Silicone Film (Comfort-Wear, Hard, Isododecane Base) is Trimethylsiloxysilicate dissolved in Isododecane. It is designed to be mixed into silicone or oil phases.
Since Pro Polymer creates a gel in a water phase and the Silicone Film is in an oil/silicone phase (Isododecane), these two phases are generally not miscible without an emulsifier.
Therefore, directly mixing a gel made from Pro Polymer with the Silicone Film (Comfort-Wear, Hard, Isododecane Base) will likely result in the mixture separating and not forming a stable, homogenous product. The Silicone Film is intended for formulations where the base is silicone or oil, not a water-based gel.
