Question
As a beginner, what are the components needed to make a Reed Diffuser? Please provide guidance.
Answer
Components for Making Reed Diffuser
To make a Reed Diffuser, the main components you will need are:
- Reed Diffuser Base: This is a special liquid base designed to dissolve the fragrance oil and allow it to travel up the reeds to disperse the scent into the air. There are different types of bases available, such as Reed Diffuser Base (Type 1).
- Fragrance Oil: This is the perfume or essential oil that provides the desired scent. You will mix this with the Reed Diffuser Base.
- Reeds: These are porous sticks (often made of rattan or fiber) that soak up the liquid mixture and diffuse the scent.
Typical Mixing Ratio:
A common ratio is about 70-75% Reed Diffuser Base and 25-30% Fragrance Oil. However, this can be adjusted based on the strength of the fragrance oil and desired intensity.
- Note: If you find that the fragrance and base separate after mixing, you can try mixing the fragrance with a small amount of Ethyl Alcohol first before adding it to the Reed Diffuser Base.*
