Lightening Shades

Yes, you can use White Oxides EasyMix™ to lighten your Beige Iron Oxides EasyMix™ base. Adding increasing amounts of White will make the beige shade progressively lighter. This is the primary way to create lighter foundation tones from a darker base.

Darkening and Adjusting Undertones

While you can use Black to darken, relying only on White for lightening and Black for darkening might limit the natural appearance of your shades. To create a realistic range of foundation colors that match different skin tones, you should use the Yellow Iron Oxides EasyMix™ and Red Iron Oxides EasyMix™ as well.

• Darkening: Use Black Iron Oxides EasyMix™ in small amounts to deepen the shade. Add it gradually as a little goes a long way.
• Adjusting Undertones: Skin tones have different undertones (yellow, pink, neutral). The Beige Iron Oxides EasyMix™ already contains a mix of red and yellow oxides. You can fine-tune the undertone:
  • Add a tiny amount of Yellow Iron Oxides EasyMix™ to make a shade warmer or more golden.

2. To lighten, gradually add White Oxides EasyMix™, mixing thoroughly until the desired lightness is achieved.
3. To darken, gradually add Black Iron Oxides EasyMix™, mixing thoroughly.
4. To adjust the undertone, add very small amounts of Yellow Iron Oxides EasyMix™ or Red Iron Oxides EasyMix™, mixing and checking the color frequently.
