Both Lauryl Glucoside and Decyl Glucoside are gentle, naturally-derived non-ionic surfactants suitable for sensitive skin, often used in shampoos, soaps, and facial cleansers as alternatives to harsher sulfates like SLS. They share many similar properties, including mildness, foam characteristics, and feel.

The primary difference that often guides the choice between the two is the desired viscosity of the final formulation:

• Lauryl Glucoside is inherently more viscous. It is typically chosen when a thicker formula is desired.
• Decyl Glucoside is less viscous, making it suitable for formulations where a thinner, more liquid consistency is preferred.
