Question

I'm experiencing difficulty dissolving L-Ascorbic Acid from the China batch compared to the UK batch, even when using the same formulation method. Why is this happening, and what can I do to dissolve it completely? What if it recrystallizes after dissolving?

Subject: Regarding Difficulty Dissolving L-Ascorbic Acid (China Batch)

Thank you for sharing your experience regarding the L-Ascorbic Acid from the China batch being difficult to dissolve compared to the UK batch, even when using the same formulation method.

It is true that the quality and characteristics of chemical ingredients can vary between different manufacturers.

Regarding the batch you have that hasn't fully dissolved, you can try the following method as suggested:

  • Gently heat the mixture to around 50-60°C.
  • Stir or mix until the L-Ascorbic Acid is fully dissolved.
  • Once dissolved, let the solution cool down to room temperature.
  • After it has cooled, store it in the refrigerator as usual.

Important Note: Be careful not to use excessive heat, as this can degrade L-Ascorbic Acid.

If, after following these steps (heating, dissolving, cooling, and refrigerating), you observe the formation of solid particles or recrystallization, it might indicate that the product does not meet specifications. In such a case, you may be able to make a claim with myskin.

We understand your concern about the quality difference and your consideration to return to using the UK source for future purchases based on your experience.
