Question

Regarding Ammonium Glycyrrhizate (Product Code 9625):

I am Ms. Chanika Wongyoo from Cosmetic Lab company. I would like to inquire about the raw material Ammonium Glycyrrhizate (Product Code 9625). I purchased the product from your company and tested it in a formulation.

When I used 0.05 grams (0.50%) of Ammonium Glycyrrhizate and dissolved it in 10 grams of water, I found that the substance did not dissolve completely. It appeared as small gel-like particles or tiny clear spots.

Is there a method to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,
Chanika Wongyoo

Answer

Solution for Dissolving Ammonium Glycyrrhizate

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the dissolution of Ammonium Glycyrrhizate. It is a water-soluble ingredient, and the issue of small gel-like particles or clear spots suggests incomplete dissolution, likely due to the mixing method.

To ensure complete dissolution at 0.50% concentration in water, please try the following method:

  1. Heat the water to approximately 60-70°C. Ammonium Glycyrrhizate can withstand temperatures up to 80°C, so heating the water is safe and will aid dissolution.
  2. Slowly add the Ammonium Glycyrrhizate powder to the heated water while stirring continuously.
  3. Continue stirring until the powder is completely dissolved and no particles or spots are visible.

This method should help achieve a clear solution of Ammonium Glycyrrhizate in water.
