Question

I would like a formulation for an eyelash gel using oils such as Fractionated Coconut Oil and Castor Oil. I need a thickener that can turn these oils into a gel texture suitable for eyelash application, preventing it from flowing into the eyes. Please provide a suggested formulation including the mixing procedure and recommended percentages, specifically using the product `Oil Thick™ Soft`.

Answer

Eyelash Gel Formulation

Ingredients:

  • Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • Castor Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Oil Thick™ Soft

Suggested Starting Ratio:

  • Oil Thick™ Soft: 8%
  • Vitamin E: 1%
  • Fractionated Coconut Oil + Castor Oil: 91% (You can adjust the ratio between Fractionated Coconut Oil and Castor Oil based on your preference, ensuring the total is 91%)

Mixing Instructions:

  1. Combine the Fractionated Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, and Oil Thick™ Soft in a heat-safe container.
  2. Gently heat the mixture to approximately 90-95°C while stirring continuously until the Oil Thick™ Soft is completely dissolved and the mixture is clear.
  3. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Once the temperature has dropped a bit (but before it starts to gel), add the Vitamin E and stir thoroughly to ensure it is fully incorporated.
  5. Continue stirring occasionally as the mixture cools to help create a smooth gel texture and prevent separation.
  6. Pour the gel into your final container before it completely sets.

This process will help you achieve a thicker, gel-like consistency for your eyelash treatment, preventing it from easily flowing into your eyes. You can adjust the percentage of Oil Thick™ Soft slightly to get your desired thickness.
