Hello,

Thank you for sharing your face cream formula and the staff's feedback.

Based on the staff's reply, your current formula is well-structured and effective for creating a protective barrier on the skin, which helps reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL). This is a key aspect of moisturizing, but it primarily focuses on keeping moisture in rather than adding moisture to deeper layers of the skin.

As the staff mentioned, if your primary goal is to enhance deep hydration and moisturization within the skin layers, you might consider incorporating ingredients known as humectants (like Glycerol, which you already have, but perhaps other types or in combination) and emollients that are known for their ability to penetrate the skin or draw moisture into it.

While adjusting the percentages of the current ingredients might slightly change the texture or feel of the cream, it won't fundamentally alter the primary function of ingredients like oils, silicones, and barrier-forming alcohols/esters, which are primarily focused on creating a protective layer.

To achieve better deep moisturization, you could explore adding or substituting some ingredients with those specifically categorized as deep moisturizers or humectants in the "moisturizer" ingredient category, as suggested by the staff. Examples might include:

  • Different types of humectants (e.g., Propanediol, Panthenol, Sodium PCA)
  • Specific emollients known for good skin absorption (e.g., certain esters, light oils)
  • Ingredients that support the skin's natural moisturizing factors (NMF)

Your current formula is excellent for barrier protection. If you wish to shift the focus towards deeper hydration, exploring alternative or additional moisturizing ingredients would be the recommended approach, rather than just adjusting the percentages of the current list.

The steps you provided are standard and appropriate for this type of emulsion.

Hope this helps!
