This formula focuses on key ingredients from rice and substances that help strengthen the skin barrier, provide moisture, and act as antioxidants, aiming for a light, easily absorbed, and non-greasy texture.

Ingredients (Recommended Percentage):

• Phase 1 (Water Phase):

  • Distilled Water: Approx. 60-70% (Adjust as needed for desired cream consistency)
  • Glycerin: 3-5% (Humectant)
  • Skin-Barrier™ (ID 7564): 5-10% (Restores skin barrier, reduces irritation)
  • MYFerment™ Rice Berry (ID 33713): 3-5% (Rice Berry Ferment Filtrate, antioxidant)

• Phase 2 (Oil Phase):

  • Rice Bran Oil (High Omega, Refined) (ID 7972): 5-10% (Rice bran oil for skin nourishment)
  • Pure-Oryzanol™ (ID 187): 0.5-1% (Concentrated Gamma Oryzanol, antioxidant, skin protection)
  • Vitamin E (dl-alpha tocopherol) (ID 135): 0.5-1% (High quality Vitamin E, antioxidant, anti-aging)
  • Emulsifier: 3-5% (Choose a type that gives a light, non-greasy texture, e.g., Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate or Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate - Olivem 1000)
  • Emollient/Texture Enhancer (Optional, e.g., Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride or Light Emollient): 2-5% (Helps the cream spread easily and absorb quickly)

• Phase 3 (Cool Down Phase - Add when the cream cools down below 40°C):

  • Preservative: 0.5-1% (Essential for homemade cosmetics to prevent mold and bacteria. Choose a type suitable for natural formulas.)

Basic Steps for Making:

1. Prepare Phase 1 (Water Phase): Weigh all ingredients in Phase 1 together in a heat-resistant container.
2. Prepare Phase 2 (Oil Phase): Weigh all ingredients in Phase 2 together in another heat-resistant container.
3. Heat: Heat both containers in a double boiler until all ingredients in Phase 2 are melted and combined (generally around 70-75°C). Avoid excessive heat, especially for rice bran oil and Vitamin E.
4. Combine: Slowly pour Phase 2 (Oil Phase) into Phase 1 (Water Phase) while stirring or using a homogenizer (or small hand blender) at medium to high speed to emulsify well.
5. Cool Down: Continue stirring or blending as the cream cools down (you can place the container in an ice bath to speed up cooling).
6. Add Phase 3 (Cool Down Phase): When the cream cools below 40°C, add the preservative and other ingredients in Phase 3. Stir to combine.
7. Adjust Consistency (If needed): If a thicker cream is desired, you can prepare a thickener (like neutralized Carbomer or Xanthan Gum) in a small amount of cold water and gradually add it while blending (this step may require further study depending on the thickener used).
8. Package: Once the cream is well combined and has the desired consistency, transfer it to clean and sterilized containers.
