Question

Regarding the formulation of a facial spray, can the following ingredients be combined? Please advise on the feasibility and any necessary adjustments, especially concerning the use of Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (Pitera) as a replacement for water and suitable preservatives for a water-based spray formula:

  • Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (Pitera) (Can this replace the water portion?)
  • Double Hyaluron Liquid 5%
  • GlucoBright™ (Acetyl glucosamine) 4%
  • Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide) 10%
  • Repair Activator™ 10%
  • NaturePreserve™ (Gluconolactone) 1%
  • Ethoxydiglycol 5% or Flora Solve Clear 2% (to help spray droplets adhere to skin and absorb better)
  • Water (Remaining portion)

Answer

Yes, your proposed formula, excluding the Pro Polymer gel maker, is suitable for a facial spray.

This formula contains several beneficial ingredients to address your concerns:

To improve the sprayability and absorption of the formula, adding Ethoxydiglycol at 5% or Flora Solve Clear at 2% is recommended, as previously suggested.

Regarding the preservative, while NaturePreserve™ (Gluconolactone) is included in the suggested spray formula, please note that it might cause thinning. If you encounter this issue or prefer alternatives, Mild Preserved Eco or Phenoxyethanol SA at 1% are suitable options for water-based formulas.
