Question

I have developed three cosmetic formulations and would like feedback and compatibility checks:

  1. Serum for Wrinkles (Normal Skin): What is your feedback on this formula?

    • Ingredient A: Plankton GP4G™ (percentage not specified in answer, but implied to be adjusted)
    • Ingredient B: Silky Serum Base (usage instructions needed)
    • Other ingredients (compatible)
  2. Brightening Cream (Normal Skin): What is your feedback on this formula, particularly regarding texture and color?

    • Oil Phase: Sweet Almond Oil + Shea Butter (Total 20%)
    • Active: French Pine Bark Extract
    • Other ingredients
  3. Watery Essence (Normal Skin): What is your feedback on this formula, particularly regarding compatibility?

    • Ingredient: Reservoir-Tech
    • Base: Water-based
    • Other ingredients

Additionally, is it necessary or effective to use all three products together? Can ingredients like Pitera and Apple Stem Cell be combined into a single formula?

Answer

Regarding your formulations for serum, cream, and watery essence:

Serum for Wrinkles (Normal Skin):

  • The staff suggested reducing Plankton GP4G™ to 2% for normal skin.
  • Other ingredients are compatible.
  • Please check the usage instructions for Silky Serum Base as it requires blending.

Brightening Cream (Normal Skin):

  • The total oil percentage (Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter) is quite high (20%) for normal skin and may feel sticky. The staff recommended reducing it to around 15%.
  • French Pine Bark Extract may darken the formula. The staff advised removing it if the cream is intended for daytime use.

Watery Essence (Normal Skin):

  • Reservoir-Tech is not compatible with water-based formulas and will separate. It should only be used in gel or cream formulas.

General Recommendation:

  • Using all three products together may be unnecessary. It is often more effective to use a single formula tailored to your specific skin type and concerns.
  • For example, you could incorporate ingredients like Pitera and Apple Stem Cell into a single serum or cream formula.
