Recommended Carriers for Perfect-C™ Ampoule

Since Perfect-C™ is oil-soluble, it must be dissolved in an oil or ester. To ensure the ampoule is clear and doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin, lightweight esters or triglycerides are ideal.

• Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: This is a very common and excellent choice. It is derived from coconut oil and glycerin, is lightweight, non-greasy, absorbs quickly, and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth. Products like Fractionated Coconut Oil and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (e.q. Myritol 318) fall into this category and are suitable.
• LipidSoft™ Lite (Isononyl Isononanoate): This ester provides a very light, non-oily feel, similar to some silicones, but without being a silicone. It's great for reducing shine and creating a smooth, dry finish, making it perfect for a lightweight ampoule.
• CocoSilk™ (Coco-Caprylate/Caprate): Another lightweight ester that serves as a good alternative to silicones. It dissolves well in oils and esters and contributes to a light skin feel.

These carriers will effectively dissolve the Perfect-C™ and help create the desired clear, non-greasy ampoule texture. You can use one of these or a combination to fine-tune the feel.

Formulation Considerations

• Mixing: Perfect-C™ should be mixed into the oil phase of your formulation.
• Concentration: Perfect-C™ is typically used at 1-10%, with 5% often recommended for efficacy.
• Stability: Perfect-C™ is highly stable, but if your formula includes a water phase, ensure the pH is within the 5.0-5.5 range and consider adding 0.2% Disodium EDTA to help maintain stability. For an anhydrous (oil-only) ampoule, pH and Disodium EDTA are not concerns.
• Storage: For long-term storage of Perfect-C™, keeping it in the refrigerator (around 5°C) and away from light is recommended.

By using one or a blend of these lightweight oil-based carriers, you can create a clear ampoule formulation with Perfect-C™ that feels light and non-greasy on the skin.
