Formulating a Cream Makeup Remover using Oilsify 15
Question
I would like to formulate a cream makeup remover. I have seen example formulas for cleansing oil using Oilsify 15. How can I modify such a formula to achieve a cream texture instead of a liquid oil? Please provide a detailed example formula and mixing procedure.
Specifically, I am interested in a formula using the following components:
- Oilsify 15
- Cetearyl Alcohol
- LipidSoft™ Palm
- Phenoxyethanol SA
Could you provide the percentages for each ingredient and the steps required to mix them to get a cream texture that can be massaged onto dry skin and rinsed off with water?
Answer
Cream Makeup Remover Formula
For a cream makeup remover formula, you can adapt the Cleansing Oil formula using Oilsify 15 as a base by adding Cetearyl Alcohol to thicken the texture into a cream.
Example Formula:
- Oilsify 15: 15% (Water-oil emulsifier, helps cleanse makeup)
- Cetearyl Alcohol: 10% (Thickener, creates cream texture)
- LipidSoft™ Palm: 74.8% (Light oil, helps dissolve makeup)
- Phenoxyethanol SA: 0.2% (Preservative)
Mixing Procedure:
- Combine Oilsify 15, Cetearyl Alcohol, and LipidSoft™ Palm.
- Heat to approximately 70 degrees Celsius and stir until the Cetearyl Alcohol flakes dissolve completely into the oil mixture.
- Let the mixture cool down.
- Add Phenoxyethanol SA and stir to combine.
This formula will result in a cream makeup remover that can be massaged onto dry skin to cleanse makeup, then rinsed off with water.
