Question
I am formulating an anti-aging gel containing DMAE. Can I use TransDerm base? If not, what base should I use instead, and how should I adjust the texture?
Answer
Regarding your anti-aging gel formula and the choice of base, the staff advises against using TransDerm (ID 630). This is because your formula includes DMAE (ID 106), which is an electrolyte. TransDerm base is not stable with electrolytes like DMAE.
Instead, it is recommended to use Aloe Vera Gel Base (ID 188). However, DMAE will soften the texture of the Aloe Vera Gel. To counteract this, you should add a thickener like Pro Polymer (Acrylate Crosspolymer) (ID 234), perhaps around 1%.
