Answer

Formulation Feedback and Vitamin C Serum Usage

Thank you for sharing your proposed formulations and questions. Here is some feedback based on the ingredients you selected:

Formulation 1: Acne, Acne Scars, Pores

  • GlucoBright (Acetyl Glucosamine): This is a good choice. It helps reduce acne breakouts and stimulates hyaluronic acid production, which can aid in skin hydration and potentially improve the appearance of acne scars.
  • Beta Glucan: Beneficial for strengthening the skin barrier, reducing irritation, and can help with fine lines. This is suitable for skin prone to irritation from acne treatments.
  • Nano Silver pure: Nano Silver is known for its antibacterial properties, which can be helpful for acne. However, the percentage you listed (1%) is significantly higher than the recommended usage rate for Nano Silver 20nm Powder (0.01-0.1%). Using a concentration much higher than recommended may not be necessary and could potentially cause issues.
  • Copper Peptide: Excellent for addressing acne scars and improving skin texture due to its ability to stimulate skin regeneration. Your proposed percentage (3%) is within the recommended range.
  • Lipid Soft CC (Cetyl Ethylhexanoate): This emollient is oil-free and non-comedogenic, making it suitable for acne-prone skin. Your proposed percentage (5%) is within the recommended range.

Overall, this formulation has good potential for targeting acne and scars, but the Nano Silver percentage should be adjusted to the recommended range.

Formulation 2: Anti-Aging, Brightening

  • Gluco Bright (Acetyl Glucosamine): Suitable for both brightening (reducing dark spots) and anti-aging (reducing wrinkles, stimulating hyaluronic acid). Your proposed percentage (4%) is within the recommended range.
  • Beta glucan: Provides anti-aging benefits by reducing wrinkles and increasing elasticity, and also helps soothe the skin. Your proposed percentage (5%) is within the recommended range.
  • German chamomile (Natural Bisabolol): Known for reducing skin irritation and gently helping with brightening by inhibiting melanin production. Your proposed percentage (1%) is within the recommended range.
  • Pep-Coll (Palmitoyl tripeptide-5): A key anti-aging ingredient that stimulates collagen production to reduce wrinkles. Your proposed percentage (3%) is within the recommended range.
  • Amino Silk (Lauroyl lysine): This ingredient primarily functions as a texture enhancer, providing softness and smoothness to the formulation. While it improves feel, it doesn't directly contribute to anti-aging or brightening efficacy.

This formulation combines several effective ingredients for anti-aging and brightening, with the addition of soothing Beta Glucan and German Chamomile.

Formulation 3: Melasma, Brightening

  • Tranexamic Acid: A highly effective ingredient for brightening and reducing melasma. Your proposed percentage (3%) is the maximum allowed for cosmetic use and is suitable for targeting melasma.
  • Active Resveratrol (ActiveRelease Trans-Resveratrol 10% Water Soluble Powder): Resveratrol offers antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which can support brightening and overall skin health. Your proposed percentage (5%) refers to the 10% powder product. The recommended usage rate for this powder is 1-3%. Using 5% of the powder is above the recommended range.
  • Soy Extract (Tryptic-Soy): Primarily focuses on improving skin elasticity and inhibiting protein degradation, contributing more to anti-aging than direct melasma treatment, though overall skin health is beneficial.
  • Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin 1%): Helps reduce inflammation and irritation and stimulates cell regeneration. While beneficial for skin health, it doesn't directly target melasma or brightening.
  • SPF protect ultra (SPF Protect Ultra III): Essential for preventing melasma from worsening and protecting against UV damage. Your proposed percentage (15%) provides an SPF of approximately 20-25 according to the product description, which offers good protection.

This formulation includes key ingredients for melasma and sun protection. Consider adjusting the Active Resveratrol percentage to the recommended range for the powder product. Adding Safe-B3 (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide), as suggested by the staff, could also enhance brightening and improve skin barrier function, which is beneficial for melasma-prone skin.
