Addressing Formulation Issues

Strong Odor

Some cosmetic ingredients can have characteristic odors. To help mask or reduce the strong smell in your mixture:

• Consider adding Odor-Kill. It is designed to absorb odors in formulations. The recommended usage rate is typically 0.5%.
• If you wish to add perfume, be aware that perfumes are generally oil-based. If your current mixture is primarily water-based and does not contain an emulsifier, you would need to add one to properly blend the perfume into the formula. Also, note that Odor-Kill can absorb fragrances, so using both might reduce the effectiveness of the perfume.

Lack of Moisturization

The ingredients you are using, while beneficial for other purposes (like wrinkle reduction and hydration from hyaluronic acid), may not provide enough emollience or occlusion for dry skin types on their own. Double Hyaluron Liquid is a humectant that draws moisture into the skin, but without ingredients to help retain that moisture, the skin surface can still feel dry.

• To increase the moisturizing effect and provide a more comfortable feel for dry skin, it is recommended to incorporate oil-based ingredients such as cosmetic oils, waxes, or butters into your formulation. These ingredients help to create a barrier on the skin's surface, reducing water loss and leaving the skin feeling softer and more hydrated.
