Formulation Questions for Gel and Facial Spray

Question

I have two formulation questions:

  1. Gel Formula: Can I replace Purified Water with Lavender Water in my gel formula containing L-ascorbic acid, Glutathione, Hyaluronic Acid Standard, and Disodium EDTA? I'm currently making a Double Hyaluronic Gel using Hyaluronic Acid Standard + Lavender Water.
  2. Facial Spray Formula: Are Lavender Water, Pitera, and DMAE compatible in a facial spray? How can I improve its performance?

Answer

Formulation Questions Answered

Here are the answers to your formulation questions:

Formula 1: Gel with Vitamin C and Glutathione

Yes, you can use Lavender Water to replace Purified Water in the first formula you described (using Double Hyaluronic Gel made with Hyaluronic Acid Standard + Lavender Water, L-ascorbic acid, Glutathione, and Disodium EDTA).

The staff also recommended adding AnyGel at 1% to help create a better gel texture that is easier to apply.

Formula 2: Facial Spray

The ingredients you listed for the facial spray (Lavender Water, Pitera, and DMAE) are compatible and can be used together.

For this formula, the staff suggested adding:

  • 1,2-Hexanediol at 3% to help the formula adhere better to the skin and act as a preservative booster.
  • Flora Solve Clear at 1% to help reduce the appearance of water droplets when sprayed on the skin.

These additions can enhance the performance and usability of your facial spray.
