Foundation Formulation using Maxagel™ EP as a Base

Using Maxagel™ EP as a base is an excellent choice for creating an anhydrous (oil-based) foundation or concealer. It provides the necessary viscosity to suspend pigments evenly and ensures a smooth, luxurious feel on the skin.

Below is a recommended formula for a Lightweight Matte Serum Foundation:

Formula (Total 100%)

Phase A: Base & Texture Adjustment

• Maxagel™ EP: 30% (Acts as the structured base and pigment suspending agent)
• LipidSoft™ Lite: 45% (A very light emollient to improve spreadability and reduce greasiness)

Phase B: Coverage & Color

• Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™: 15% (Provides coverage and brightness)
• ReadyMix™ Iron Oxides (Yellow, Red, Black): ~5% (Adjust the ratio of these three to match the desired skin tone)

Phase C: Finish & Oil Control

• MatteSilica 3™: 5% (Provides a matte finish, absorbs excess oil, and gives a smooth "slip" to the formula)

Mixing Instructions

1. Prepare the Base: Combine Maxagel™ EP and LipidSoft™ Lite in a mixing vessel. Stir until the mixture is uniform and clear.
2. Add Pigments: Gradually add Titanium Dioxide 200nm EasyDisperse™ and the ReadyMix™ Iron Oxides. Since these pigments are designed for easy dispersion, you can use a standard mixer, but a high-speed blender or homogenizer will ensure the most seamless color distribution.
3. Final Texture: Add MatteSilica 3™ to the mixture and stir until the powder is fully incorporated and the texture is smooth.
4. Shade Adjustment: Test the color on the skin and fine-tune by adding very small amounts of the ReadyMix™ Iron Oxides as needed.
