Question
Hello. I would like a recommendation for a nourishing gel formula for inflammatory acne, headless acne, and dark spots from picking/squeezing acne. I want a lightweight, non-sticky formula. Currently, I only use Aloe Vera Gel (Lite).
Answer
Recommended Gel Formula Additions
You can add these powdered ingredients directly into your Aloe Vera Gel (Lite) base.
- Safe-B3™ (Vitamin B3, Niacinamide): Add at a concentration of 5-10%. Start with 5% and increase if needed and tolerated.
- Alpha Arbutin: Add at a concentration of 2%.
- Centella Asiatica Extract (Madecassoside 90%): Add at a concentration of 1%.
Mixing Instructions:
- Measure out your desired amount of Aloe Vera Gel (Lite).
- Weigh the appropriate amount of each powdered ingredient based on the total weight of your gel base and the desired concentration.
- Add the powders to the gel base at room temperature.
- Stir the mixture for 3-5 minutes to help the powders dissolve.
- Let the mixture sit for 15-30 minutes to allow the ingredients to fully dissolve.
- Stir again until no powder is visible and the gel is homogeneous.
This combination provides anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial (from Niacinamide), skin-brightening, and wound-healing benefits in a lightweight texture suitable for acne-prone skin.
