Question

I have a hair tonic formula that I want to make for nourishing hair roots and promoting hair growth and strength. Can this formula be mixed?

Also, if I don't add a preservative (specifically mentioning Phenoxyethanol), how long will it last, and should I add one?

Answer

Subject: Re: Check if this formula is okay

Hello,

Regarding your hair tonic formula for nourishing hair roots and promoting growth and strength, the formula you provided can be mixed.

Regarding your question about shelf life without a preservative:
It is highly recommended to add a preservative to the formula. Without a preservative, it is not possible to determine the exact shelf life, as it depends heavily on whether microorganisms are introduced during the mixing process and the type of packaging used. Contamination can cause the product to spoil quickly.

The staff recommends adding 1% preservative. If you are concerned about potential irritation from Phenoxyethanol, you can consider using Phenoxyethanol SA (Optiphen Plus) at 1% instead.

For more information on formula shelf life, you can refer to the topic linked by the staff.

Thank you.
