Question
I am formulating a Hair Wax product and plan to use `Carbomer` as a thickener. I would like to know how to neutralize `Carbomer`, possibly using `Triethanolamine`. Additionally, will the presence of `Kaolin` in the formula affect the `Carbomer`?
Answer
Hello,
Regarding your question about neutralizing Carbomer in your Hair Wax formula, the staff advises that Carbomer should not be used for this type of formulation.
Based on your purchase history, the staff recommends using the following ingredients to thicken your Hair Wax instead:
- Wax Cream Maker (PEG-8 Beeswax) as the emulsifier.
- Cetearyl Alcohol or Paste Maker (Ceteareth-25) as thickeners.
Using these recommended ingredients will help you achieve the desired viscosity for your Hair Wax, replacing the need for Carbomer neutralization with Triethanolamine or considering the effect of Kaolin.
