How to Mix Iron Oxides EasyMix™ in Glycerin Soap Base

Iron Oxides EasyMix™ colors, such as Red Iron Oxides EasyMix™, Black Iron Oxides EasyMix™, Yellow Iron Oxides EasyMix™, Beige Iron Oxides EasyMix™, and White Oxides EasyMix™, are designed to be dispersed in oil or silicone. They are not soluble in water or glycerin.

To use Iron Oxides EasyMix™ in a liquid glycerin soap base (which is water-based), you should first disperse the color powder in a small amount of oil or silicone compatible with your soap base formulation. Once the color is fully dispersed in the oil/silicone, you can then incorporate this mixture into your glycerin soap base.

This method is necessary because of the coating on the EasyMix™ pigments, which makes them disperse best in oil or silicone rather than dissolving directly in water-based substances like glycerin.
