Isododecane/Isohexadecane vs. LipidSoft for Sunscreen Dissolving and Function

Isododecane and Isohexadecane are primarily used as emollients and texture enhancers in cosmetic formulations. They provide a light, non-greasy feel and are volatile, similar to some silicones like Cyclomethicone.

However, they are not effective solvents for sunscreen ingredients, whether in powder or liquid form.

For dissolving sunscreen ingredients, the recommended group of ingredients is LipidSoft.

Therefore, Isododecane and Isohexadecane cannot be used as a substitute for LipidSoft for the purpose of dissolving sunscreens. Their main function is to improve the feel and texture of the product.
