I would like to know if the texture of the product using the following formula will be too hard:

  • Cocoa Absolute: 0.50 %
  • shea butter (Refined): 49.75 %
  • Cocoa Butter (Deodorized - ลดกลิ่น): 49.75 %

I want to achieve a lip balm texture. Thank you.

Based on the formula you provided (Shea Butter 49.75%, Cocoa Butter 49.75%, Cocoa Absolute 0.50%), the texture of the finished product is unlikely to be too hard.

  • Shea Butter is a relatively soft butter that melts easily at body temperature.
  • Cocoa Butter is harder than Shea Butter and provides some structure.

However, this formula consists almost entirely of butters and does not contain any wax (like beeswax or candelilla wax), which is typically used in stick lip balms to provide firmness and raise the melting point.

Therefore, the resulting texture will likely be quite soft, melting readily on contact with the skin. It will have a buttery feel and melt like a balm, but it might lack the solid structure of a traditional stick lip balm. It might be more suitable for a pot lip balm or have a texture similar to a soft body butter.
