Question

I have a liquid formula for exfoliation, anti-aging, and dark spot reduction with the following ingredients:

  • FruitPeel 5%
  • Glycosaminoglycans compley 2%
  • Calcium Pantothenate 3%
  • Safe B3 5%
  • Gluco Bright 4%
  • Double Hyaluron Liquid 3%
  • Encapsulated Retinol 2%
  • Phenoxyethanol SA 1%
  • 1,2 Hexanediol 4%
  • Water 71%

I want this formula to have a liquid texture. Can this formula be used together with Copper Peptide? The staff recommended adjusting 1,2 Hexanediol to 2% and Phenoxyethanol SA to 0.5%, and adding WaterSoft at 2-3% for spray application.

Answer

Based on the formula you provided for exfoliation, reducing wrinkles, and dark spots, and your request for a liquid texture:

  • Formula Adjustments: The staff recommended adjusting the percentages of two ingredients:
    • Reduce 1,2 Hexanediol from 4% to 2%. Using 4% is considered too high.
    • Reduce Phenoxyethanol SA from 1% to 0.5%. Since 1,2 Hexanediol also helps with preservation, a lower amount of Phenoxyethanol SA is sufficient.
  • Compatibility with Copper Peptide: To determine if your formula can be used effectively with Copper Peptide, the staff needs to know the specific formula of the Copper Peptide product you are using. Please provide the details of your Copper Peptide formula for a compatibility check.
  • Liquid Texture: The current formula, without thickeners, will naturally be a liquid as you requested. If you plan to use it as a spray, the staff suggested adding WaterSoft at 2-3% to improve the skin feel and adherence of the spray.
