Loose Powder Formulation for Coverage, Oil Control, and Whitening

Here is a sample formulation for a loose powder designed to provide coverage, control oil, and help brighten the skin. This formula uses a combination of powders with different properties to achieve the desired effects.

Ingredients:

• Fillers/Base Powders: Provide bulk, texture, and some coverage.
  • Sericite Powder (CompactPro™, Matte, Dimethicone Coated): 30-50%
  • Mica Powder (9 Micron, Silane Coated): 10-20% (for coverage and smooth feel)
  • Mica Powder (20 Micron, Methicone Coated): 10-20% (for softness and spreadability)
• Coverage/Absorption: Adds coverage and helps absorb oil.
  • Kaolin (400nm High Whiteness): 10-20%
• Oil Control: Specifically for absorbing excess oil.
  • SelectSorb™ (High Oil Absorption PMMA): 5-15%
  • UltraBlur™ (Skin Blurring Silica): 1-5% (helps with finish and some oil absorption)
• Binder/Adhesion: Helps the powder adhere to the skin.
  • Magnesium Myristate (For Make-up): 1-5%
• Whitening Active: For skin brightening effect.
  • GlyciWhite™: 3-5%

Instructions:

1. Weigh all powder ingredients accurately according to the desired percentages.
2. Combine all powders in a suitable mixing container.
3. Blend thoroughly using a powder blender or mortar and pestle until the mixture is homogeneous and free of clumps. Ensure even distribution of all ingredients, especially the active and coated powders.
4. Sieve the powder if necessary to achieve a finer texture.
5. Package the finished loose powder in an airtight container.
