I want to make perfume oil.

  • What is the general ratio of fragrance oil to carrier oil?
  • Which carrier oils are recommended, especially regarding rancidity?
  • Can I use oils from the LipidSoft group, or oils from the iso-decane group such as Isododecane or Isohexadecane as carrier oils?
  • Do I need to add a fixative?
  • Can I add substances from the Pheromone group, such as Fleuramone, and what is the appropriate usage rate?

Answer

Creating Perfume Oil

To create perfume oil, the general ratio of 30% fragrance oil mixed with 70% carrier oil is correct.

Choosing a Carrier Oil

It is recommended to use carrier oils that are resistant to rancidity to prevent them from affecting the fragrance over time. Suitable options include Fractionated Coconut Oil or Olive CLEAR.

Regarding other types of oils, LipidSoft group oils can be used as carrier oils. However, oils from the iso-decane group, such as Isododecane or Isohexadecane, are not suitable for this purpose.

Fixatives

In oil-based perfumes, additional fixatives are generally not necessary. The carrier oil itself acts to help fix the scent, allowing it to last longer on the skin.

Adding Pheromones

Yes, substances from the Pheromone group, such as Fleuramone, can be added to perfume oil. However, the appropriate usage rate varies depending on the specific type of Pheromone. It is important to check the recommended usage rate for the particular Pheromone product you are using to ensure effectiveness and safety.
