How to Make Matte Liquid Lipstick (Basic Formula)

This formula is a basic matte liquid lipstick base previously recommended by staff. It can serve as a starting point for creating your lipstick.

Ingredients for the Base:

• Warp Cream Maker: 25%
• Cyclomethicone: 25%
• Isododecane: 25%
• Polyethylene Wax: 2.5%
• Silicone Film (Comfort-Wear, Hard, Isododecane Base): 22.5%

Instructions for Making the Base:

1. Heat Warp Cream Maker, Cyclomethicone, Isododecane, and Polyethylene Wax to 70-80 degrees Celsius.
2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until homogeneous.
3. Once mixed, let the temperature cool down to no more than 50 degrees Celsius.
4. Add Silicone Film (Comfort-Wear, Hard, Isododecane Base) and mix again until combined.

Adding Color:

Add the desired color (ReadyMix oil-based cream colors are recommended) to the prepared base, mixing at a ratio of approximately 65% base to 35% color.

Calculating Ingredient Amounts for 50 Tubes (3ml each)

You want to make 50 tubes of 3ml each, for a total volume of 150ml. To ensure you have enough and to account for some loss during mixing and filling, we will calculate the ingredient amounts for approximately 165 grams of finished product (assuming the density is close to 1 g/ml).

Based on the 65% base : 35% color ratio for 165 grams of finished product:

• Total Base needed: 65% of 165 g = 107.25 g
• Total Color needed: 35% of 165 g = 57.75 g (per color shade)

Breaking down the Base amount (107.25 g) according to the base formula percentages:

• Warp Cream Maker (25%): 25% of 107.25 g = 26.81 g
• Cyclomethicone (25%): 25% of 107.25 g = 26.81 g
• Isododecane (25%): 25% of 107.25 g = 26.81 g
• Polyethylene Wax (2.5%): 2.5% of 107.25 g = 2.68 g
• Silicone Film (Comfort-Wear, Hard, Isododecane Base) (22.5%): 22.5% of 107.25 g = 24.13 g
