Mixing Cream Base with Skin Whitening Cream
Question
Could you please explain and provide guidance on cream bases? My purpose is to mix a cream base with a skin whitening cream formula to increase the overall volume of the skin nourishing cream. Could you also please provide detailed steps on how to mix them?
Answer
Using Cream Base to Increase Skin Cream Volume
A Cream Base is a ready-made cream texture developed to make it easy to mix with various active ingredients to create finished skin care cream products. You can mix a cream base with your existing skin whitening cream to increase its volume.
Steps for Mixing Cream Base with Existing Skin Cream:
- Prepare the desired cream base, such as Skin Barrier Cream Base (Emulsifier Free) or Absolue Soft Cream Base (compare to Lancome).
- Scoop the cream base into a mixing container.
- Gradually add your existing skin whitening cream into the cream base.
- Use a spatula or a small mixer (if available) to stir or mix thoroughly until the cream is smooth and uniform, with no separation.
- Start by mixing in a small ratio, for example, 1 part of your existing skin whitening cream to 3-4 parts of the cream base, and gradually adjust the ratio according to your needs and the resulting cream texture.
Points to Consider:
- Mixing will reduce the concentration of active ingredients in your original skin whitening cream.
- Mix in small batches at a time and store in a clean, sealed container.
- Observe the compatibility of the cream texture after mixing. If there is separation, color change, or unusual smell, the ingredients may not be compatible.
Some cream bases, such as Skin Barrier Cream Base (Emulsifier Free), also have properties that help strengthen the skin barrier and can be used as a good main base for mixing. Or Absolue Soft Cream Base (compare to Lancome), which has a texture similar to counter-brand creams, can be used as a base up to 90-100% of the formula.
