Question

Can L-Ascorbic Acid be mixed directly with Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (Pitera)? If not, what alternative form of Vitamin C is compatible with Pitera, and what type of formulation (e.g., cream base) is recommended? Is the Vitamin C E Ferulic kit suitable for use with Pitera?

Answer

Mixing Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) and Pitera

Based on the information provided, you cannot mix Vitamin C L-Ascorbic Acid directly with Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (Pitera).

  • Reason: Pitera causes L-Ascorbic Acid to degrade.

If you want to create a formulation containing both Pitera and a form of Vitamin C, it is recommended to use a cream base with Pitera and use Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Perfect-C TransDerm) as the Vitamin C component. This form of Vitamin C is oil-soluble and more stable.

  • Note: The Vitamin C E Ferulic kit is not a suitable substitute for Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate in this context, as it is a pre-made formula/base, and adding Pitera would raise the pH and cause the Vitamin C in the kit to degrade.
