Mixing Skin Tightening Active Ingredients into Gel Base
Question
I have a 100ml Aloe Vera and Coconut extract gel base and several active ingredients:
- DMAE Bitartrate
- N-Acetyl Glucosamine (e.g., GlucoBright™)
- Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide, e.g., Safe-B3™ or Extreme-B3™)
- Pepha-Tight
- Sesaflash
Could you please advise on the correct method for incorporating these ingredients into the gel base? Specifically, I need to know:
- How to mix them effectively.
- If the order of adding the ingredients matters.
- What temperature should be used for mixing.
- What are the recommended and maximum usage percentages for each ingredient in a 100ml base?
Answer
How to Mix Active Ingredients into a Gel Base
To effectively incorporate DMAE Bitartrate, N-Acetyl Glucosamine, Vitamin B3, Pepha-Tight, and Sesaflash into your 100ml Aloe Vera and Coconut extract gel base, follow these steps:
Mixing Process
All the listed ingredients are easily water-soluble.
- Dissolve each ingredient (DMAE Bitartrate, N-Acetyl Glucosamine, Vitamin B3, Pepha-Tight, Sesaflash) separately in a small amount of water.
- Stir each solution until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Gradually add the dissolved solutions to your 100ml gel base. Use as little water as possible for dissolving to avoid diluting the base significantly.
Special Note for Sesaflash
Add Sesaflash slowly, little by little, while continuously stirring the gel base. This helps it incorporate smoothly.
Mixing Order and Temperature
The order in which you add the dissolved ingredients does not affect the final product. Mix all ingredients at room temperature; no heating or cooling is needed.
Recommended Usage Rates (for 100ml base)
To achieve the best results, consider these recommended and maximum usage rates:
- DMAE Bitartrate: Recommended 4% (Maximum 5%). Using more than 4% does not provide additional benefits.
- N-Acetyl Glucosamine (e.g., GlucoBright™): Recommended 4%.
- Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide, e.g., Safe-B3™ or Extreme-B3™): Recommended 2%.
- Pepha-Tight: Recommended 3% (Maximum 5%). Using more than 3% might cause excessive skin tightness.
- Sesaflash: Recommended 5% (Maximum 10%). Using more than 5% will result in a very strong tightening effect.
