Question

I have an Oxygen Bubble Cleanser formula. Can I add 4% MakeUp-Wash (PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides) to this formula and use it by massaging it onto dry skin first, then adding water, similar to a cleansing oil? Will this modified formula be able to remove makeup effectively, similar to a Micellar cleansing water?

Answer

Based on the staff's response:

  • The original Oxygen Bubble Cleanser formula you provided does not contain MakeUp-Wash, which is necessary for removing makeup or waterproof sunscreen. Therefore, this formula as is may not effectively remove them.
  • Yes, you can add 4% MakeUp-Wash (PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides) to the formula and use it by massaging it onto dry skin first, then adding water, similar to a cleansing oil. This modification will allow the cleanser to remove makeup. However, because the formula contains other surfactants, it is essential to always rinse it off with water after use.
