Regarding the BB/CC cream formula previously provided in the forum thread, that formula is not an Oil-Free formula. It contains LipidSoft Dry, which is an emollient (oil group), and uses Water-Capsule, a Water-in-Oil emulsifier. Generally, Water-in-Oil formulas offer a certain level of longevity and water resistance. Other ingredients like BB Micro Silk and Titanium Dioxide also help with oil control, mattifying, and coverage, contributing to the formula's wear time and sweat resistance to some extent. However, it is not a formula completely free of oil.

To develop an Oil-Free BB Cream formula that is long-lasting, sweat-resistant, non-greasy, and easy to spread, the focus should be on using ingredients primarily in the Water Phase and non-oily components. Key ingredient groups essential for an Oil-Free formula with these desired properties include:

• Film Formers: These are crucial for helping the cream adhere to the skin for extended wear and providing water and sweat resistance. Choose types that disperse well in water, such as Allianz OPT, Flex Film, or Comfort Film. These ingredients form a thin film on the skin, helping pigments stay put and preventing the product from easily coming off when exposed to sweat or humidity.
• Oil Absorbers / Texturizers: This group helps control shine on the face, giving a matte finish throughout the day, and improves spreadability for a smooth, silky feel. Examples include Silica various types like MatteSilica 5 which has good oil absorption properties, or BB Micro Silk which helps blur wrinkles and pores for a soft-focus, smooth skin appearance.
• Pigments and Dispersing Agents: To provide coverage and the desired BB Cream tint, pigments like Titanium Dioxide are needed for coverage and UV protection (choose water-dispersible types such as Titanium Dioxide 250nm WaterDisperse or WaterMix White) and various shades of Iron Oxides (such as Beige Iron Oxides EasyMix) to match skin tone.
