Question
My Phenoxyethanol turned red/pink. The staff previously mentioned a problem with packaging causing a reddish color in a specific batch. Is this reddish/pink color normal, and can the product still be used?
Answer
Phenoxyethanol Color
Normally, Phenoxyethanol should be a clear liquid. Some blends, like Phenoxyethanol SA or Chlorphenesin / Phenoxyethanol, may appear clear to light yellow.
A pinkish or reddish tint is not normal.
Based on past issues, a reddish color could indicate a problem, such as contamination from packaging components over time. If your Phenoxyethanol has turned pink or red, it is recommended to discard it as it may not be suitable for use.
