Recommended Formula Proportions for Pillow Spray

Based on your ingredients and the previous staff recommendations, here are the suggested proportions for your pillow spray formula:

First, please remove the following ingredients as advised by the staff:

• Polysorbate 20
• Sodium Benzoate
• Citric Acid

The remaining ingredients and their recommended proportions are:

• Total Essential Oils (Vetiver, Patchouli, Chamomile, Lavender, Ho Wood, Lemon, Sweet Orange, Eucalyptus): You need to determine the total percentage of all essential oils you wish to use. A common range for essential oils in sprays is typically 1-5%, but you can adjust this based on your desired scent strength.
• Flora Solve Clear: Use 2.5 to 3.0 times the total percentage of your essential oils. For example, if your total essential oil percentage is 3%, use Flora Solve Clear at 7.5% to 9%.
• Phenoxyethanol (Preservative): Use at 1%.
• Disodium EDTA: Use at 0.1% to 0.2%.
• Water: The remaining percentage to reach 100%.

Example Calculation (assuming 3% total essential oils):

• Total Essential Oils: 3%
• Flora Solve Clear: 3% * 2.5 = 7.5% (or up to 3% * 3.0 = 9%)
• Phenoxyethanol: 1%
• Disodium EDTA: 0.1% (or 0.2%)
• Water: 100% - 3% - 7.5% - 1% - 0.1% = 88.4% (This would be 86.7% if using 9% Flora Solve Clear and 0.2% Disodium EDTA)

Important Notes:

• Always mix the essential oils with Flora Solve Clear first until fully dissolved before adding to the water phase.
• Start with the lower end of the Flora Solve Clear range (2.5 times the essential oil) and increase if needed to ensure the essential oils are fully solubilized and the mixture is clear.
• Test the final mixture to ensure it sprays well and does not clog the spray nozzle, as high concentrations of Flora Solve Clear can increase viscosity.
• Perform a small test on a hidden area of your pillow to check for staining before widespread use.
