Pitera Toner: Hyaluronic Acid vs. Butylene Glycol Function

Question

Can Hyaluronic Acid be used instead of Butylene Glycol when mixing Pitera with water? What would be the function of the resulting toner?

Answer

Hyaluronic Acid is primarily a humectant and moisturizer, meaning it helps draw moisture into the skin. It serves a different function than penetration enhancers like Butylene Glycol, which are sometimes used to help ingredients absorb better.

Mixing Pitera with water and Hyaluronic Acid is perfectly fine and would create a hydrating toner. However, it would not serve the same potential purpose as adding Butylene Glycol, which was discussed as potentially helping with skin penetration. Using Hyaluronic Acid would focus more on adding moisturizing benefits to your Pitera toner.
