The hardening of your Pro Polymer™ Silk is likely due to moisture absorption. This is a common issue with powder-based gel-forming ingredients when exposed to humidity.

As the staff reply indicated, storing such products in their original foil packaging with a desiccant helps prevent this. If the product is not fully used, it should be sealed tightly back in its protective packaging.

Even though the product has hardened, it can still be used. The efficacy should remain the same. However, it will be more challenging to dissolve in your formulation. Grinding the hardened product into a powder before use will significantly help with dissolution and make it easier to incorporate into your recipe.
