Propolis for Mouthwash
For making mouthwash, you can use water-soluble Propolis Extract. We have two options that are suitable:
- Propolis Extract (Liquid, Water-Soluble)
- Propolis Extract (Liquid, Water-Soluble, High Flavonoids)
Both types are liquid and can be mixed into water without heat. They are known for their anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties.
Regarding the difference between "brown" and "green" propolis, the color and properties of propolis depend on the plant sources bees collect resin from. "Green propolis," often associated with Brazilian propolis, is known for its high content of specific flavonoids like Artepillin C, which contribute to its strong biological activity. Our Propolis Extract (Liquid, Water-Soluble, High Flavonoids) is likely comparable to what is referred to as green propolis due to its high flavonoid content (> 0.5%) and high effectiveness, although it has a strong propolis smell. The standard Propolis Extract (Liquid, Water-Soluble) is also effective but may have a different flavonoid profile and potentially be considered more like "brown" propolis.
For the concentration, the recommended usage rate for both types of propolis extract is 0.5-5% in your formulation. It is advisable to start with a lower concentration and adjust as needed, staying within this recommended range.
