Question
Regarding a matte liquid lipstick formulation:
- If Mica is added, is it still necessary to add easymix color 25%? Or should I choose only one?
- To make the color long-lasting and not easily removed (for a matte texture), what ingredient should be added?
- If I want a glossy finish that is not dry, what ingredient should be added?
- Could you please provide the method for making this lip product, as only the ingredients were listed?
Answer
Based on the staff's response regarding the matte liquid lipstick formulation:
- Mica for metallic effect and easymix color: You should use both Mica (for metallic effect) and easymix color. The exact combination and proportion are part of the formulation technique to achieve the desired color tone and shimmer.
- Long-lasting color: The formula already includes Oil Film (Hydrogenated Polycyclopentadiene) which helps the color adhere and last longer. It is recommended to try making the formula as is first.
- Glossy finish: If you prefer a glossy finish instead of matte, you can add Squalene to the formula. This should be done by replacing some of the Isododecane and Oil Film.
- Method: This formula is a single oil phase. Heat all the oil-soluble ingredients until they are dissolved and well mixed. Then, add the powder ingredients and mix or disperse them thoroughly.
