Question
I have some questions about a powder cleanser formula:
- If I add Papaya Enzyme (Papain) 1% to the formula, will it help exfoliate the skin and make the face brighter?
- If I want to add something to dissolve clogged pores (acne), could you recommend an ingredient and its percentage for daily use? Also, if I use too much cleansing powder, will it be harmful or easily cause irritation for sensitive skin? Please advise.
- After washing, I want the face to feel soft and smooth, with a good texture. Can I add Water-Film™ (Galactoarabinan) 5%?
- Can this formula clean and remove makeup simultaneously? For someone who doesn't wear heavy makeup, would it be sufficient? Or would washing 2-3 times be enough to remove foundation or sunscreen completely with this formula?
- Can I add fine herbal powders like Turmeric or Thanaka without affecting the formula? Will they provide any benefits?
- Is the mixing procedure simply combining everything together?
Answer
Powder Cleanser Formula Questions
Thank you for your questions regarding the powder cleanser formula. Here are the answers based on your inquiries:
- Adding Papaya Enzyme (Papain): Adding 1% Papaya Enzyme (Papain) to this formula can help exfoliate and soften the skin over time (typically after at least 4 weeks of use). However, we cannot confirm that it will lead to skin brightening, as we do not have test results specifically for that effect. The powder format of this cleanser is suitable for maintaining the stability of Papain.
- Dissolving Clogged Pores (Acne) and Irritation: Ingredients designed to dissolve clogged pores are generally effective in liquid formulas, not powder formulas like this cleanser. Regarding irritation, using too much powder cleanser can indeed cause skin tightness, dryness, or irritation, especially for sensitive skin. It is important to observe your skin's reaction and adjust the amount used accordingly, similar to any facial cleansing product.
- Adding Water-Film™ (Galactoarabinan): Ingredients like Water-Film™ that provide a soft, smooth feel after washing are typically used in liquid formulations and are not suitable for this powder formula.
- Makeup Removal: This formula can help remove makeup and sunscreen. For light makeup, it may be sufficient. However, for heavier makeup like foundation or stronger sunscreens, it might require washing 2-3 times, and its effectiveness may not be comparable to dedicated makeup removers.
- Adding Herbal Powders (Turmeric, Thanaka): Adding fine herbal powders such as Turmeric or Thanaka to this wash-off formula will not provide significant benefits to the skin. These ingredients typically require dissolution in a liquid base and sufficient contact time on the skin to be absorbed and exert their effects. While they can be included for marketing purposes, you should not expect functional benefits from them in this cleanser. Note that while Turmeric extract (like WhiteCumin™) has potential benefits, these are also limited in a short-contact product.
- Mixing Procedure: Yes, the mixing procedure is simply combining all the ingredients together.
